Ingredients

  • 1 block extra-firm tofu
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ pound ground pork (or ground beef)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chile sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Directions

  1. Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Heat oil over medium-high heat in a medium-sized pot.
  3. Add onion, garlic, ginger, red pepper, and ground pork.
  4. Cook until browned.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, chile sauce, cornstarch, and chicken broth.
  6. Add to the ground pork and bring to a boil.
  7. Add tofu and stir gently for 3 minutes.
  8. Mix in green onions and sesame oil.
  9. Serve over rice.
