Get the most out of your Google Maps™ experience.

Many would consider Google Maps to be the bread and butter of iFit workout content. Can you blame us, though? With so many beautiful destinations around the world, Google Maps makes it easy for us to create workouts, literally, anywhere.

If you want to take full advantage of this feature, you should know there are 4 different ways you can use Google Maps on iFit. You can:

  1. Join the Workout of the Day.
  2. Join a program.
  3. Draw your own map.
  4. Complete a user-created map.

Join the Workout of the Day

Depending on your equipment type, you might be able to join the Workout of the Day right from your console, or you might need to schedule it.

If you have a touchscreen console:

  1. Log in to your iFit account on your fitness equipment.
  2. Click the big Start button in the middle of your screen. (This will always start the Workout of the Day.)
  3. Begin your workout!

If you have a module or an LED display:

  1. Log in to your iFit account online.
  2. Scroll down until you see Workout of the Day.
  3. Click Schedule on the workout. A pop-up will appear for you to schedule the workout. (If you want to do the workout right away, make sure it’s the upcoming workout in your schedule.)
  4. Log in to your fitness equipment, then start the workout. (How you start the workout will vary based on your equipment.)

Join a Program

iFit has over 100 different fitness programs you can join. Some use Google Maps, while others do not. If you want to join one, here’s how:

  1. Log in to your iFit account online.
  2. Hover over Menu at the top, then click Library from the list.
  3. From there, you can browse all of our programs. We have programs in the following categories: running, cycling, general fitness (incline training, elliptical, and walking workouts), event training, and video.
  4. Once you find a program that you’re interested in, click Join. A pop-up will appear for you to schedule the date that you want to start the program, or you can just click Join and the program will automatically be scheduled to start right away.
  5. Log in to your fitness equipment to complete the workouts!

Draw Your Own Map

For an in-depth tutorial on how to draw a map, check out this post! If you want a quick overview, here are the basic steps:

  1. Log in to your iFit account online.
  2. Hover over Create at the top, then click Map Based Workout from the list.
  3. Name your map workout, select the activity type, schedule the workout, then click Next.
  4. Search any location, then click on the map to draw your route. If you need to go off road, turn the Snap to Road toggle off. To see if Street View is available for your location, make sure the Street View Availability toggle is on.
  5. Once you’re done drawing your route, click Next.
  6. You’ll be sent to a summary screen of your workout. If everything looks good, click Create.
  7. You’ll see a success banner at the top letting you know your workout’s been created! (Your workout will automatically be added to your calendar. You can also find it under your created workouts.)

Complete a User-created Map

Anyone in the iFit community can build and share their routes. To join someone else’s workout, here’s how:

  1. Log in to your iFit account online.
  2. Hover over Menu at the top, then click Community.
  3. Browse this page to find workouts, tips, and support from other iFit members.
  4. When you find a workout that you want to do, just click the link and schedule the workout. (The workouts are on cards that say “I thought this workout was worth sharing.”)
